A very important downside of Applets is their slow loading times. What is even worse is that the Applet has to be loaded entirely before it starts disallowing even a loading screen. A BootApplet is a very small, fast starting applet which loads the real applet at run-time. BootApplet can for example be used for a loading screen, instructions and waiting games.

Around this time of year I often need to find a suitable font for Christmas cards. Finding a nice free font can sometimes be rather annoying as for some odd reason most free fonts are not actually free. Thanks to the Custom Search Engine feature of Google co-op this has now become a whole lot easier.
